Healing and wellness through art
TMC Health’s Healing Art Program creates uplifting environments that support patient recovery and emotional well-being. Research shows that thoughtfully chosen art and music in hospitals can ease pain, reduce stress and even accelerate healing—often leading to shorter hospital stays.
What is the Healing Art Program?
At TMC Health, we believe the arts have the power to transform care. Learn more about how the program started and how to get involved.
Our history
Founded in 2014 by local art collectors Len and Doris Coris, the TMC Health Healing Art Program was created as a meaningful way for artists to share their passions and creativity with the Tucson community.
Whether through music, dance, or the visual arts, we are committed to enriching the experience of every patient, team member and visitor—and to honoring the healing power of the arts.
If you are an artist, patron, patient or someone in-between that's interested in donating to or getting involved with TMC Health's Healing Arts Program, we would love to hear from you! Please reach out via email at Jenna.Green@tmcaz.com.

Our art collection
Our art collection features nearly 24,000 works installed across TMC Health's hospitals, clinical offices, cancer centers and infusion clinics—all made possible through generous donations from artists and collectors, along with grant support from the TMC Health Foundation.
From main lobbies and waiting rooms to corridors and patient spaces, these installations create a healing, welcoming atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff while showcasing Tucson’s vibrant art scene.
The collection includes gallery-quality paintings, photographs, graphics and sculptures by both emerging and established artists, many of whom are local to Tucson and the Southwest. !
If you are interested in scheduling a tour exploring our collection, please reach out to Jenna Green by email at Jenna.Green@tmcaz.com.
Community Creatives
Since 2014, the Healing Art Program has hosted professionally trained musicians to bring live music to patients and visitors. In 2026, we aim to build on this foundation by expanding access to the arts and create a sense of calm and connection for patients, staff and visitors.
These Community Creatives—comprised of local musicians, artists and more—will offer therapeutic experiences in public areas throughout TMC Health to create an enriching and healing environment. We can't wait to share with you what comes next!
Community Creatives are year-round, paid artists that facilitate creative arts engagements throughout TMC Health. If you are interested and want to learn more, please email Program Manager Jenna Green at Jenna.Green@tmcaz.com
